THE FRANCE FOUNDATION WINS OUTSTANDING EDUCATIONAL ACTIVITY AWARD AT 2009 ACCP ANNUAL MEETING

Old Lyme, CT - The France Foundation, a recognized leader in accredited continuing medical education, announces receipt of the first place award in the category of Clinical Resource Center Outstanding Educational Activity in Professional Development as bestowed by the leadership of the American College of CHEST Physicians (ACCP) at their 2009 annual meeting.

The first place award, awarded to one exhibitor out of over 1,200 participating exhibitors within the Clinical Resource Center portion of the CHEST annual meeting, recognizes leadership in developing and implementing a valuable educational experience. The 2009 award-winning educational activity was comprised of an interactive booth experience allowing attendees the opportunity for live dialogue with expert faculty on the topics of idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis (IPF) and interstitial lung disease (ILD).

The interactive booth is one part of a larger national educational initiative, sponsored by The France Foundation and supported by InterMune, entitled PILOT™-Pulmonary Fibrosis Identification: Lessons for Optimizing Treatment. The initiative is designed to provide health care professionals with important clinical information focusing on the early and accurate diagnosis of IPF, while addressing educational objectives critical to optimizing disease intervention and management. Educational strategies range from online podcast series and webinars to live symposia, educational booths, and dinner programs.
