DIP, high magnification


At high magnification, the typical appearance of DIP is characterized by light brown pigmented macrophages (m) that fill the alveolar spaces. Note the consistent "retraction" space between the macrophages and the slightly thickened and fibrotic alveolar septa (s). Click for low magnification >>
