HRCT in a patient with left lung transplant

HRCT in a patient who has had a left lung transplant for idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis (proven at pneumonectomy). HRCT shows a small right lung nodule (arrow) which had not been visible on prior scans. The scan also shows typical findings of idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis in the native right lung: reticulation, traction bronchiectasis, honeycombing, and reduced volume when compared to the transplant. The differential diagnosis would include confluent fibrosis, infection, or carcinoma. Click here for HRCT from 3 months later>>
