IPF

This is a high-resolution CT image through the lung bases in a 70-year-old man with biopsy-proven IPF. It shows a peripheral and subpleural predominance of reticulation and mild honeycombing, seen best posteriorly (red arrows). This appearance is typical of IPF. There is some associated ground-glass opacity in the left lower lobe. Click for 6 week follow-up >>
