Presentation
- 59-year-old Puerto Rican male
- Presented with mild dyspnea and Raynaud’s syndrome in 1998
- Chief complaint: dyspnea
History
- Hypercholesterolemia
- Gastroesophageal reflux
- S/p cholecystectomy
- S/p tonsillectomy
Habits
- Never a smoker
- Had a pet bird for a brief time after his initial diagnosis
Occupation
- Worked in construction and as a factory worker
- No exposure to asbestos
Family History
- No history of fibrotic lung disease
Allergies
Medications
- Atorvastatin 20 mg/day
- Esomeprazole magnesium 20 mg/day
Review of Systems
- All negative with exception of mild arthralgias
Physical Exam and Workup
- BP: 146/82
- Pulse: 82
- Temp: afebrile
- RR: 18
- O2: 97% RA
- Weight: 172 lbs
- Respiratory system: bibasilar crackles, otherwise normal
- Extremities: no cyanosis/clubbing/edema; no joint deformities/swelling
- Other features: normal
- Laboratory workup: all negative
